His Name is Wonderful; His Name is Counselor; His Name The Mighty God, Jesus my Lord. A Child and Son is He; Eternal Father He; The Prince of Peace to me, Jesus my Lord. Praise the Creator, Jesus our Savior, Life-giving Spirit now.
Unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon His shoulder: and His name shall be called wonderful, Counselor, the mighty God, the everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
VERSE 1. The people who walked in the darkness. Have seen a great light come. The people who dwelled in the shadows. Have seen a new day dawn. For to us a son is given. And to us a child is born. As you walk with Jesus, you begin to realize that what he has said is in fact true: There is strength in weakness; there is blessing in brokenness; there is exaltation in humility; there is comfort in affliction; there is even life in midst of death—all because of Jesus the wonderful Counselor.
