Raising and slaughtering animals for food violates their rights by depriving animals of their lives and freedoms. In industrial agriculture systems, farmed animals are confined in small, unnatural spaces and subjected to painful and distressing bodily harms like dehorning and debeaking that are considered routine management practices.
