15 Οκτ 2024 · WASHINGTON, Oct. 15, 2024 – At today’s feeble pace, it could take more than a century to eliminate poverty as it is defined for nearly half the world – people who live on less than $6.85 per day, according to the World Bank’s new Poverty, Prosperity, and Planet Report.
Poverty incidence is projected to decrease from 17.8 percent in 2021 to 13.6 percent in 2024 and further decrease to 11.3 percent in 2026, using the World Bank’s poverty line for lower-middle-income countries of $3.65/day, 2017 PPP. Risks to the outlook remain tilted to the downside.
