The optimal quest guide exists because you are playing an mmo with a player based obsessed with efficiency and meta's. The most hardcore players follow things like this, so you are definitely not a noob for doing so.
This is the one I've used and am using on my alts. Find the appropriate guide and go. You can skip quests too if you're out leveling the guide due to doing more dungeons... I highly recommend doing each dungeon at least once for dungeon gear and dungeon quest gear to make your questing easier
RestedXP Guide Mini Review. I leveled a horde 1-60 on the TBC servers using the paid guide addon 100% of the way. It got me all the way to 60 easily with no hangups or bugs. My only gripes with it were that it has you hold quests for a LONG time, having like 15+ quest items in your inventory for levels at a time.
