The estimated annual number of deaths caused by several vaccine-preventable diseases, based on statistical modeling. Estimates come with wide uncertainties, especially for countries with poor vital registration.
Our vaccination dataset uses the most recent official numbers from governments and health ministries worldwide. Population estimates for per-capita metrics are based on the United Nations World Population Prospects. Income groups are based on the World Bank classification.
Total vaccine doses administered per 100 people vs. daily new COVID-19 deaths per million people. All doses, including boosters, are counted individually. Due to varying protocols and challenges in the attribution of the cause of death, the number of confirmed deaths may not accurately represent the true number of deaths caused by COVID-19.

While these figures are promising and inch closer to beating the pandemic.
