To be clear: although you can add the games to Steam as non-Steam apps to enable launching them easily in game mode, you cannot download or access them directly through Steam itself without purchasing them through Steam. You need Epic client (or Heroic) just like you would on a desktop PC.
Heroic launcher is the easiest, working and most up to date. Install the launcher in desktop mode via the discover store, run, sign into your account, then install a couple of games. For each game, if you select it and hit the "tools" tab, you can add each game as a steam game.
The only issue I have is to get epic games online services running on linux. Tried with both heroic as well as native Epic Games Launcher but I can't get it to work. 150 votes, 27 comments. Just a quick tutorial 🫡 Hope this is useful!
29 Απρ 2024 · Playing Epic games on the Steam Deck has always been a bit of work, but it is possible to do. You would need to go through the Epic Launcher in Desktop Mode and add it to Steam, or you could use the Heroic Launcher and add games directly to Steam, but it does still require you to go to Desktop Mode.
