It's best not to think about WoW has having "free" and "premium" tiers. The free trial is just a free trial, not a meaningful game mode. It doesn't let you see any of the important parts of the game. The paid monthly subscription is the basic game, not an optional premium version of it.
A: Once you upgrade your account with a WoW subscription, all game content beyond level 20 and up to level 60 will become available, including higher level dungeons, raids, and social features like guilds, unrestricted in-game chat, and the Auction House.
Go to battle.net create account, login, click Download games. Find Battle.net App and download that. Launch it, login and find World of Warcraft there. Download it. You can also go to settings beforehand to change where you want your games to donwload to.
But you would still need to get at least a day for free from a GM to then sell all of it on all characters to make enough to get the first month for free. All this is doable, just very time consuming.
Starter account, get a sub and you're good to level 110. The game is free to download and free to play up to level 20. There are major restrictions on the "starter accounts" as they're called (can't trade, can't whisper, can't use AH) but you can do dungeons and BG's. Buying a sub will allow you to play (and do everything) up to level 110.
