Megeas 15 years ago #3. if your a hunter or shaman then at level 40 you learn it from your class trainer. Paladins/Warriors/Death knights already have mail when they start and learn plate at 40....
Think I'm going to pop my shadowlands boost on a mail class. Currently have a 120 warrior, priest, warlock, and DH, so I figured Mail would be logical next step. But both Shaman and Hunter are appealing to me, I've traditionally loved playing healer, but always loved hunter aesthetic too.
There are three classes in the mail tier. One of them, Hunter, is insanely popular. The other two are hated - Evokers are hated by the players; Shaman by the Devs. They’re low population classes and I don’t see that turning around unless something dramatic happens.
You still got old recipes but for any gear past lvl60 or 70 you need a lw to craft mail armor. For BFA you can craft leg and foot but to 470ilvl (almost best gear in the game) but you'll need to rzid or pvp on top of gathering the required mats.

Engineering is also useful, since you can make a nice head piece and some lower ilvl weapons that are useful to shamans and hunters.
I'm new to this but my plan is to focus on Mail Armor crafting just to make profit selling gear for Evokers that want to go for m+ fast, just like craftermarks in shadowlands with shadowscale/shadebound gear.
