  3. Katie Baillargeon teaches a range of academic writing courses, from lower-division Writing 1, 2, ACE, and 50, to upper-division 105s and 109s like Writing in the Humanities, Writing in the Social Sciences, and Rhetoric. She also teaches 107L—Legal Writing—in the professional writing series.

The two Capstone courses equip students with knowledge of the following areas: - Journalism in history, law and ethics. - Research, including interviewing (primary) and online sources (secondary) - Beat reporting and engaging with the community. - Writing, revising and editing. - Accuracy and verification tools.

  5. Work in Creative Writing will help students develop their voice and gain the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in today’s publishing environment. The close reading and criticism performed through Literary Study will help students better understand and analyze literature.
