29 Ιουλ 2011 · Wiseco are good piston but I use them only in modified engines. Just like Sea dood mentioned, the cleareance is way to loose because they are forged pistons and the expand more. I recommend you stick with pro-X or stock.
16 Νοε 2007 · I have used them with perfect results, no problems. One thing to remember is they are a "cast" piston which means you have to set the tolerance closer than a forged piston.
28 Οκτ 2005 · WSM are good pistons, don't get me wrong and they are cheap. I ran them in my 95xp800 with no problem, but that was on a stock ski. Not sure how they hold up on a modded one.
3 Μαρ 2013 · I just bought a set of forged WSM pistons at a good price and im curious how they stack up against wiseco.
27 Απρ 2021 · The ring end gaps slightly above the max end gap spec'd in the manual so I called WSM and they said OMC had changed the spec a couple years back due to ring breakage. Apparently the wider gap gives greater reliability.
10 Νοε 2024 · When I rebuilt my 2 stroke 250 and 500 cc motors. I always went with Wiseco pistons. I race motorcross and had to rebuild at least once a year. I liked them. I have no experience with WSM. I did some research and found that the Pro-X pistons seemed to be very popular...which is what I went with, purchased from IslandRacing.
13 Ιουλ 2012 · The wiseco piston has a recommended clearance of .002 (thousandths) The WSM piston has a recomended clearance of .0028 to .0035. I set the wiseco an extra thousands on the loose side, and the cast in the middle of the recommended range. I've had a wiseco set at .004,and .005 before this comparison test and it still showed some very minor scuffing.
