Log in to University Email All undergraduate students starting AFTER November 2018 , graduate/professional students, faculty, and staff receive an Exchange (Outlook Online) email inbox. Use the Outlook App to connect email to a mobile device.
The ED system supports the routing of your netid@illinois.edu (and netid@uiuc.edu) email from external mail systems. Log in at: https://ede.cites.illinois.edu/ Set your email field to netid@mx.uillinois.edu, e.g.: jdoe@mx.uillinois.edu
Note that you must have an account on that email system to be able to log into the web interface. If you have recently claimed your NetID and cannot access your university email account, please note that it can take up to 2 hours before your email inbox is ready.
However, once you locate your email client's configuration section, these are the settings you will use. IMAP Configuration. Username: yournetid@illinois.edu; Password: Active Directory password; Email address: yournetid@illinois.edu; Incoming mail server: outlook.office365.com; Incoming mail server: requires authentication/normal password

New faculty, staff and students will automatically get an Exchange online mailbox created for them. Unit IT Pros can request resource mailboxes by emailing consult@illinois.edu. Mailboxes on the Exchange system have auto growing quotas that are calculated and adjusted nightly.
