How to Create an XY Chart With a Centered Axis in Word. Like Excel, a chart that you create in Word 2013 normally has the X-axis along the bottom of the chart and the Y-axis along the left. To move either of these or both to the center, change the Axis Options.
A coordinate system, or Cartesian coordinate system, is a useful tool for plotting points or lines in a four-quadrant chart. Using an X Y (Scatter) chart in Word 2013, create your own coordinate system with the points already plotted, or a blank system that you can print for later use.
Additionally, you can use stacked bars or comparative bars to represent data in your chart. When creating it, ensure that you have two axes: the x and y-axis, to represent data. In order to ensure that your audience is aware of the variables being represented, the graphs must also be labeled.
