All Radiographers must complete 24 hours of continuing education. Continuing education hours must be obtained through providers that are recognized by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) per RAD 5.03 .
All radiographers must complete 24 hours of continuing education beginning with the 8/31/2014 renewal. Limited X-ray machine operators must complete 12 hours. Note: This does not apply to the biennium when the license was first issued or for the first renewal of license.
Limited Permit X-ray Technicians (XTs) 24 CEC related to the application of X-ray to the human body (required for all XTs). For digital authorization permit holders, four (4) of the 24 CEC must be specific to digital radiography.
There is licensing of technologists and no X-ray continuing education requirement in Wisconsin. Individuals operating CE radiation therapy equipment require ARRT ® certification. continuing education during each two-year period, and refers to these hours as Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits. One CE credit is equivalent to one CME credit as defined by the Medical Board of California when X-ray application to the human body is the subject matter of the education.
