Flash ROM Image (BIOS)¶ Xbox compatible BIOS. Due to key DRM functions being unimplemented, xemu is currently unable to boot games when using an unmodified retail BIOS.

Compile and flash it to your ESP32 or ESP8266 board. Upload the SPIFFS using "Tools -> ESP8266 Sketch Data Upload" or on the ESP32 with "Tools -> ESP32 Sketch Data Upload". Connect some wires to the Xbox Mainboard.

XQEMU is a low-level, full-system emulator which emulates the actual hardware of the Xbox; this means that in order to actually run XQEMU, you must have a copy of the stuff that a real Xbox needs when it turns on: The MCPX Boot ROM image; The flash ROM image (aka BIOS) A properly-formatted hard disk drive image; Game disc image(s)
Cromwell is a free, legal BIOS replacement for the original Xbox. It is capable of loading Linux from the Xbox's Hard Disk, and CD-ROM. It is not able to load original Xbox games, neither originals nor copies. It can be installed and used in one of two ways: Flashed to a modchip: If selected, it will let you boot Linux.
