21 Αυγ 2023 · Press ESC + Shift + Ctrl simultaneously to open Task Manager. Scroll down slowly to find the File Explorer process. Right-click on the process to select "Restart". Some other members provided ideas for converting game icons in PNG format in the C:\Program Files\WindowsApps\Resources directory to ICO files.
Been having this issue since i started using Xbox Game pass, when putting the shortcuts to the games on my desktop it won't show the proper icons/picture. Read online some other people having the same issue. Anyone know a solution.
Try this. Open run and type %localappdata%, delete "iconcache.db. After that launch the tasks manager (clrl+shift+esc) and find Windows Explorer, click it and click restart (bottom right corner). It should fix it 🤓. 18 votes, 17 comments. 185K subscribers in the XboxGamePass community.

I ran all available updates and they work now, so if you run into this problem, try updating Windows 10. I'm having an issue where a handful of games (via the Xbox app on PC) don't properly show their respective desktop shortcut icons.
