Centers for cross-country (also called XC or Nordic skiing) are found in most parts of Massachusetts, with the greatest concentration in the Berkshire Mountains in the west. Almost all cross country skiing centers also welcoming snowshoeing and also offer snowshoe equipment rentals and lessons.
Western Massachusetts provides a diversity of cross country ski experiences unequalled anywhere. From rustic mountain-top lodges and elegant Berkshire mansions to land preserves and working farms, the variety of nordic venues here will impress you.

Cross-country skiing and snowshoeing through March 15 (weather dependent), daily, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM. During the 2023-2024 season grooming will take place Thursday-Tuesdays. Ski School & Programs: NVprograms@thetrustees.org
Northfield Mountain Cross Country Ski Area, on Route 63 in Northfield, is open for great cross country skiing. At Northfield, you can ski a gorgeous sweep of the mountain on 25 miles of trails groomed for classical and free style skiing.

Summer Camp. Last month, 36 EMXC Juniors skiers headed to Dublin, NH for a team training camp at Dublin School. Coaches Chris, Avery, Marika, Mark, Nick, Robert, and Devin attended to help lead camp. Camp is one of the highlights of the summer, as it cultivates a lot of opportunity for team bonding, culture-building, and fun and focused training!
