25 Ιουν 2021 · Most of the icons on the Safari homepage have gone grey, or how to say it. It looks like they have not been reloaded as they should after I cleared cache, buffers and history. So that was when the problem started.
25 Αυγ 2023 · Today, I deleted the Yahoo icon that I could see when I pressed Safari on my home screen. The Bing and Apple Icons are still there, but I can't see the Yahoo icon any longer.
16 Ιαν 2014 · You can navigate to the Yahoo page of your choice in Safari, and then tap the Square Icon with the up pointing arrow and select - Add to Home Screen and that will put a shortcut to that web page on your home screen.

9 Αυγ 2017 · Update: If you do not anticipate adding or removing websites to your Favorites list very often, you can lock the Images folder (~/Library/Safari/Touch Icons Cache/Images) to prevent your computer from overwriting or deleting the icons you just added.

The problem is that when you add a bookmark, sometimes Safari mistakes the homepage icon with the sidebar icon. Go to Username/Library/Safari/Touch Icons Cache/Images. Here are your favicons in image form. You'll have to identify the corrupted icon, it may look blurry and overblown.
