I am offering some replacement parts for early vintage Yamaha FG’s. My current focus has been the 1966-1976 models. These parts may or may not fit 1977 and later models. See my forum for the most current info about Replacement Parts for Vintage Yamaha FG’s.
Sealed Yamaha Grover-clone tuners. According to her serial number, she was born on October 6 1977. Before offering her for sale, I did a complete teardown, polishing, then waxing the body, cleaning then treating the fretboard & bridge overnight with lemon oil and adjusting the tuners.
10 Δεκ 2017 · I have read that the FG series from the 70's had laminate tops, but the luthier told me that the spruce top to my FG-345 is, in fact, solid, showing me how the grain is consistent through the top. According to the serial number, my guitar was manufactured in March 1977.

I have a 345 that I bought new in 1980. Am doing deep cleaning and polishing now. First time that frets were reshaped. Time for new strings.
