I see people recommend it on Reddit all the time. It's completely worthless, and subsequently turns people off to YNAB because they think all budgeting software is like that. YNAB is a complete game changer and idk how I would manage without it.
YNAB makes you categorize the spending while you make it and if you overspend, you see it immediately, prompting you to take action. YNAB also is a separate system from your bank accounts so the budgeting categories will look different than your bank accounts as you use it.
So, for us, for right now, YNAB is worth it's hefty price point for this working class family. I know that this level of tracking isn’t the thing that works for everyone, but what you’ve laid out here is exactly why this community is so enthusiastic about YNAB’s system.

I learned the YNAB method before I started Uber. There is a learning curve; it is worth it. There are YNAB Youtube videos which can be very helpful. I have a Personal budget to manage my cash flow. I got this down before I started gig work.
