David Castañeda is a Mexican-American actor. In 2019, Castañeda began portraying Diego Hargreeves in the Netflix series The Umbrella Academy. Castañeda was born in Los Angeles and was raised in Sinaloa, Mexico. He returned to the United States when he was 14 and attended William Workman High School in California.
In 1995, González Iñárritu wrote and directed his first T.V pilot for Z Films, called Detras del dinero, -"Behind the Money", starring Miguel Bosé. Z Films went on to be one of the biggest and strongest film production companies in Mexico, launching seven young directors in the feature film arena.
