1: Turn off the machine (with no disc in). 2: Turn on the machine by opening the disc tray. 3: Physically force the disc tray back in with force. Not so much that you snap the thing or knock it off its runners, but enough that the motors stop retracting the tray.

The issue with the tray sticking is generally caused by the dvd rom drive belt, which will either need cleaned (along with the pulley wheel) and then tested. If the problem persists you'll need to replace the dvd rom drive belt. There's also plenty of phat 360 "teardown" videos available online.
20 Αυγ 2024 · There will be a gap in the middle of the CD/DVD tray. You will see 2 pulleys with a rubber belt. Use tweezers to carefully take the belt out. Take a Damp paper towel and clean any dust and dirt off of the rubber belt. Using the tweezers again carefully put the rubber belt back in.
