Not sure what you're talking about PS4 controller works great. Don't even need DS4Windows. I just plug in my DS4 to USB, go to Emulation > Configure > Controls > Docked > Set all the buttons. Hit set analog and lower the deadzone down to like 3% makes it more responsive too.
First, open YuZu then go to Emulation > Configure > Controls. On this page select a device from the Input Device tab near the top of the screen. Once you have selected a controller use the tool to customise your button layout. This is pretty straightforward.

I've written some software that allows you to map virtually any directinput device (i.e. wheel) or set of devices (i.e. wheel + pedals + shifter) to a virtual xinput device, mapping many->many inputs and between dpads, buttons, axes, & sliders. It also has settings that convert rumble -> sine feedback effects on wheels.
