The Z-19, or WZ-19, is a twin-engine, tandem twin-seat reconnaissance/attack helicopter featuring a fenestron tail rotor borrowed from the Z-9, a licence-built AS365 Dauphin. Is equipped with armor platings, crash resistant seats and a nose turret with FLIR, TV, and laser designator.
The Z-19 light attack and reconnaissance helicopter features a conventional, stealthy design integrating a trimmed forward fuselage and a tandem cockpit. It also has a low acoustic signature and can execute operations under difficult weather and environmental conditions.

The Harbin Z-19 is a modern light reconnaissance and attack helicopter of Chinese origin. The Z-19 fills the role between the Z-9W series of armed utility helicopters and the heavier and larger Z-10 used as a dedicated attack helicopter.
The Z-19 is an upgraded tandem seat version of the Harbin Z-9W (similar to the development of the Bell AH-1 Cobra from the UH-1), using mechanical components derived from the Eurocopter AS365 Dauphin series, as the Z-9 series are license-built versions of the Dauphin helicopters.
