29 Ιουν 2020 · In the earliest releases of Zork I (and mainframe Zork), turning the bolt instantly fills or drains the reservoir. Later versions added the delayed drain/fill as an alternate solution, as well as several new room descriptions (and a few new ways to drown yourself).
Have fun playing, but mainframe Zork is very difficult. That's the only version I've ever played, way back when, on the MIT machine they developed it on -- and I won! And without being able to save/restore, so it was all one (necessarily) error-free playthrough.
The object in ZORK RtGUE is to find the treasures of the Great Underground Empire and put them into your trophy case. It sounds simple but it takes some time and brains to collect them.
23 Ιουν 2013 · The walkthrough explains when, where, and how you will get both the egg and the treasure back from the Thief (it is very near the end of the game). So if you follow the walkthrough step by step exactly, you will have no trouble getting through that part of the quest.
