3 Φεβ 2017 · In this article, we review the anatomy and physiology of the CNS and ANS in regard to control of the cardiovascular function in physiological and pathological states and the effects of different nervous system disorders on cardiovascular function.
In the present state-of-the-art review, we describe recent advances in the understanding of anatomical and functional aspects of the brain-heart axis, cardiovascular complications after stroke, and a comprehensive pathophysiological model of stroke-induced cardiac injury.
23 Νοε 2023 · Physiological connections between the heart and brain, termed the heart-brain axis (HBA), are bidirectional, occur through a complex network of autonomic nerves/hormones and cytokines, and play important roles in common disorders.
The Neuro-cardiac Axis. Neuroimaging with positron emission tomography (PET) and functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), reveal a complex set of neural pathways and interactions which are termed as the ‘neuro-cardiac axis’.
The importance of the brain-heart interaction has been increasingly recognized as a critical physiological axis that is altered in disease. In this review, we explore the intricate relationship between the central nervous system and cardiovascular health, focusing particularly on immunological mecha ….
26 Μαρ 2021 · In-depth characterization of heart-brain communication in critically ill patients with severe acute respiratory failure is attracting significant interest in the COronaVIrus Disease 19 (COVID-19) pandemic era during intensive care unit (ICU) stay and after ICU or hospital discharge. Emerging research has provided new insights into pathogenic ...
2 Σεπ 2024 · Parasympathetic function is mediated through the vagus nerve, which connects the heart, brain, and immune system to form, what we have termed, the brain–heart-immune axis. We hypothesize that this brain–heart-immune axis plays a critical role in surgical recovery among older adults.
