12 Οκτ 2016 · Cardiac axis can be determined by examining the 6 limb leads, which look at the heart from different angles in a vertical plane. The QRS axis is the most important, and also the easiest to be determined, as it represents ventricular depolarization.
The axis is measured in degrees, from 0 (horizontal) to +90 (vertical) and -90 (inverted). A normal ECG axis should be anywhere from +30 to -60. An abnormal ECG axis may indicate problems with the heart's electrical activity, such as right or left ventricular hypertrophy, or arrhythmias.
