After a student selects Accelerated Reader on the Home page, he or she can take Reading Practice, Vocabulary Practice, Literacy Skills, and Other Reading Quizzes. To see a video demonstration of how students take a quiz, click here. Students should take quizzes within 24 hours of finishing a book.
With Accelerated Reader, a student reads a book, takes an online quiz, and gets immediate feedback. Students respond to regular feedback and are motivated to improve their reading skills.
You can choose to see quizzes that are fiction and/or nonfiction, with certain interest levels based on the book's content, quizzes worth a certain range of points, quiz titles within a specific book-level range (ATOS and/or Lexile®* measure), quizzes in English and/or Spanish, and/or quizzes with Recorded Voice (audio) available.
