20 Μαΐ 2020 · I suppose either may be possible. "In" is the usual preposition with "join", but people go "on" an adventure. That is, if the adventure you are talking about is one that you can go on. If the offer to join is merely to watch other people rather than participate in yourself, then use "in". I'd probably use "in" regardless.

Circuses used to travel from town to town, and a child who wanted adventure, or who wanted to get away from his parents, might imagine he could get a job and travel with them. This would be "running away with the circus".

18 Οκτ 2013 · We also sometimes use on: "Set off on an adventure." But we seldom use to with set off. I don't think I can provide a cogent reason. "Set off to school" isn't incorrect exactly, but it's just not how we usually say this. Or perhaps I should say this isn't how I usually say this.
