Joe Richardson games are actually make you smile and giggle. Four Last Things inmo is a funniest point and click game ever, but is really short unfortunately. The Procession to Calvary and The Preposterous Awesomeness of Everything are lighthearted and fun games as well. He has 4th game coming out soon.

If you just mean "free games made by fans of the genre in general" then my favorites are the Chzo Mythos games by Yahtzee. The Room ...
