Albert William Kaline was a Major League Baseball player who spent his entire 22-year career with the Detroit Tigers (1953 - 1974). When Al, his nickname won the batting title in 1955, he became the youngest batting champion in baseball history, taking over the age-record from Ty Cobb, who was only twelve days older than Kaline.
