Animal Friends Humane Society (AFHS) was established in 1952 and is Butler County’s largest, oldest non-profit animal shelter. Our mission is to promote humane principles, to protect lost, homeless, abandoned and mistreated animals, and to act as advocates for animals in our communities.
Best Friends Animal Society, (BFAS) founded in its present form in 1993, [1] is an American nonprofit 501 (c) (3) animal welfare organization based in Kanab, Utah with satellite offices in Atlanta, Georgia, Bentonville, Arkansas, Houston, Texas, Los Angeles, California, New York City, and Salt Lake City, Utah. Animal Friends Society is a small, foster-based 501 (c) (3) organization that works to find the best placement for the animals in our care. We spay/neuter, vaccinate, microchip, and have any medical needs taken care of for our fosters before adoption.
Find your best friend at this year's event, this weekend at Rose Bowl Stadium. Hundreds of dogs and cats from more than 20 Los Angeles-area shelters and rescues will be available for adoption, ready for their person to bring them home.
Before You Get Started. The hours to browse and visit with our adoptable animals are: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, & Sunday: 12:00pm – 4:00pm. Wednesday & Thursday: 12:00pm – 5:30pm. Guests who arrive 30 minutes before closing will be asked to return another day to view our adoptable animals.
