The Food Assistance Program − known nationally as the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) − helps eligible Ohioans stretch their food budgets and buy healthy food. Food assistance benefits are distributed electronically through the Ohio Direction Card, which is similar to a debit card.
You can apply for food assistance online, or you can fill out a form called "Request for Cash, Food, and Medical Assistance. This form is available online. Once you complete the form, you can submit it to your county agency.

How to Apply. Apply online at Benefits.Ohio.gov or submit a Request for Cash, Food and Medical Assistance to your County Department of Job and Family Services . SNAP (food stamps or EBT) helps eligible families stretch their food budgets.
