This blank forging is the precursor to a forged AR-15 lower receiver. No milling operations have been completed on it. It's more complete than our 0% Lower Receiver, but less than 80% complete, so we're calling it a "20% lower receiver".
All of our AR-15 lower receiver blanks are manufactured to precision tolerances and exhibit extraordinarily high quality. However, there are some minor differences between the forged and billet 80 lower receivers we carry here.
An 80% lower is a receiver blank that is machined as far as you can without legally becoming a frame or receiver and would then require to be transferred to an FFL. A lower parts kit will not even fit in an 80% Lower until it has been machined into a complete firearm.
