While the average height of men around the world increased by 5%, the percentage change varies worldwide, with the greatest relative increases in Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa. In women, the largest relative increases were seen in Europe, South America, and East Asia.

According to comprehensive global data, Netherlands men stand the tallest with an average height of 183.78 cm, followed closely by Montenegro at 183.30 cm and Bosnia and Herzegovina at 182.47 cm.
The effect of ethnicity on stature was studied in population groups of 601 individuals in the People of India project by the Anthropological Survey of India. In the ethnic groups from varied geographical and climatic zones, adult stature ranged from “very short” (130–149 cm) to tall (170–179.9 cm). [5]
