Absolutely agree. Firefox is my personal browser of choice because it's FOSS, developed by a non-profit, and strong customization (especially for privacy and security). That being said, this is more about the insecurity of many non-major browsers than any compliment towards Chrome.

I recommend Avast to those who really know what a good browser is. Two essential add-ons for lightning fast browsing that you have to install, one is uBlock and the other is Ad-Guard [ both in auto-mode ]. End of story. Long live AVAST, the best browser 2022, by far.
Just use your browser of choice with a good ad-block like uBlock Origin and you'll have plenty of protection. I like Firefox based browsers, but Chrome is perfectly secure, though definitely not privacy minded.
So he's been running AVG Secure browser which consumes literally all the resources it can find. Then I open chrome and edge to try and use those, and both redirect me to pages by AVG which say using them isn't safe and you need to switch to AVG Secure Browser or be exposed to threats etc etc.
