Police Academy Rules & Regulations. All In-Service Rules are mandatory in order to keep the Academy clean and orderly. Violations of any of the following rules may result in the student being returned to his/her department without credit for course. Dress Code.
The Bergen County Police Academy will participate in the Alternate Route Program for our July 2024, and January 2025 Basic Course for Police Officers classes. The selection process will begin in February 2024 with no more than 200 applicants being accepted for the examination.
This 32-hour course is designed for Law Enforcement personnel who patrol a wide array of areas and want to better engage with the community. The class produces confident, competent, and effective personnel who operate bicycles in a safe manner and reduce departmental liability.
WHEN: February 27, 2025; 8:30AM-4:30PM. WHERE: The Bergen County Law and Public Safety Institute: 281 Campgaw Road, Mahwah, NJ 07430. DETAILS: This class provides officers with the skills they will need to save their life or the life of another during a violent critical incident.
