However, if your BitLocker recovery key isn't available, you'll need to contact your device manufacturer or IT administrator for help. They may need to provide other methods to unlock your computer.
Power the device off and then back on. Look for a message on the boot screen just before or after the manufacturer logo appears. You may need to press the F1, F2, or Delete button, whatever key is indicated on the boot screen to enter BIOS Settings. Inside BIOS, look for a tab called BOOT and select that page.
14 Αυγ 2021 · Laptop is asking for a bitlocker recovery key after it rebooted on its own while I was sleeping (possibly due to an update). I have never turned on encryption or enabled Bitlocker. Windows 10 Home Edition. It has never asked me for this before. No one else touches this laptop.

Overnight, I suddenly must enter a BitLocker recovery key at every startup. (Luckily, I have the key.) How do I make it stop? I barely understand what BitLocker is, much less how to manipulate it. If possible, I am hoping for specific steps to turn this off. Running Windows 10 Pro. Thank you!

On the advanced options screen, select > System restore method (or) Uninstall updates to remove the last updates that triggered the BitLocker recovery screen. See if these methods help.
29 Φεβ 2024 · It seems I had to run reagentc /enable once again after turning off and on BitLocker, or possibly I only needed to reboot the PC without turning BitLocker off. I wish KB5028997 had addressed warnings and the extra steps needed for BitLocker-enabled drives. But again, it should've run automatically without even requiring any of these steps.
