31 Αυγ 2019 · Since recent Windows 10 update my screen backgrounds have all turned black instead of usual white. Can't see how to change this in Personalisation/Settings even after changing background from 'dark' to 'light' - I'm so angry their stupid software took in upon itself to alter how I'd set the laptop up :-(. Any advice gratefully received!
2 Μαρ 2014 · Part of this has to do with light levels: with a bright display (white background) the iris closes a bit more, decreasing the effect of the "deformed" lens; with a dark display (black background) the iris opens to receive more light and the deformation of the lens creates a much fuzzier focus at the eye.

14 Ιαν 2014 · Does anyone have a way to change the background color to something other than white. White background causes headaches for me and for many. Studies back with Windows 3.0 discovered that darker background colors were better for eye strain. Why is it that Microsoft can't seem to let users decide on their color schemes.
You might have set the theme to high contrast #1 on your Computer that is the reason you are getting black screen with white fonts.
