Robert Clayton Shantz (born September 26, 1925) is an American former professional baseball left-handed pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) from 1949 through 1964, and won the 1952 American League Most Valuable Player Award as a member of the Philadelphia Athletics.

Shantz took home the MVP awards in 1952 as a member of the Philadelphia A's after a 24-7 season on the mound behind a 2.48 ERA. In his first season as a Yankee, he lead the league with 2.45 ERA. Shantz and the Yankees made it to the World Series in 1957, 1958, and 1960, winning it all in 1958.
