7 Απρ 2009 · "Bread and milk is my favorite snack/breakfast" "Bread and milk are good for you". Like it's been explained, it depends on how you're referring to "Bread and milk". If it's one whole thing, then it'd be a singular noun and therefore it'd be followed by "is". If it's two separate things, then it'd be plural and thus followed by "are".

In is not appropriate unless you have a specific reason to emphasise that you’ll be inside the bakery when you buy your bread. At is fine. You could also use from. But note that (in the UK anyway) a shop of this kind would normally be referred to as the baker’s, not the bakery.
19 Δεκ 2007 · I think a loaf here refers to the shape of the mould for the processed cheese which would then be cut into slices for sandwiches just like bread. A loaf of cheese would weigh something like 15 kg and be sold wholesale. Your example says Italian-type, so it´s a manufactured cheese poured into a loaf tin mould for easier slicing.

6 Νοε 2018 · Because “bacon and eggs” is the name of a meal, which is singular. Compare “my favourite sixties group is The Beatles” or “The Alps is the place to be”.
31 Δεκ 2010 · Although "What we only have is a piece of bread to eat for lunch" doesn't violate any rules of English grammar, I don't think any native speaker would say it, few would write it unless they were deliberately trying to be complicated or difficult to understand, and teachers of English writing would criticize it as bad style.

Number is usually clear in English sentences, but there are many that are unclear, and if you survey English speakers you will often find a 50-50 (or otherwise) division between those who choose singular and those who choose plural.

Do you use a singular or a plural behind it (google returns quite few answers for "a bunch of them" compared to "a bunch of it")? Thanks for your help.
