Helwig offers a wide range of replacement spring assemblies for constant force brush holders, including those used in electric motors, generators, and turbine ring magazines. Our constant force springs are engineered to meet or exceed the performance of the original parts.
V-Type is a carbon brush holder designed to attain balanced spring pressure, current distribution and reduced carbon brush wear. We have achieved this by using a main spring for all the brushes in the same phase and ensuring the angle to the slip ring is always 90°.

The Carbon Brush is fitted in a brush holder which is designed to hold it in the correct position and allow the brush to run on the surface of the commutator or slip ring (collector) to transfer that currrent at optimum performance.
Carbon brush holders ensure that the carbon brushes are held securely in position. With a defined contact pressure, the holder ensures that the required current transmission can be provided and that at the same time there is the best possible balance to the necessary wear of the brush.
