They are two correct sentences with two different verbs and so two different meanings. 1) means "Our parents raise us (clothe, feed, and house us, take us to the doctors and supervise our health, etc.)" 2) means "They love us." I disagree with Boozer and Ain’ttranslatin.

I was home, taking care of my sick child. vs. Take care about the way you pack that glassware. It's fragile. Take care about your route; some roads are closed in the winter.

5 Αυγ 2006 · Wörtlich schon - als Übersetzung von "mach's gut" geht "take care" nicht, aber als Äquivalent? "Pass' auf Dich auf" geht in Richtung "Sei vorsichtig.". Das wird eigentlich nur verwendet, wenn jemand einer "ungewissen Zukunft" entegegen geht. Da würde dann zwar auch "Mach's gut" funktionieren, aber umgekehrt eher nicht.
