A Carousel for Missoula is a volunteer-built, hand-carved carousel in Missoula, Montana, located on the Clark Fork River in Missoula's downtown Caras Park within walking distance of the historic Wilma Theatre, Jeannette Rankin Peace Center and Osprey baseball stadium. The carousel is accompanied by a volunteer-built park, Dragon Hollow.
The community extended as far as Calgary, Alberta, Canada, where the Midnight Rose Carvers built a friendship horse for Missoula. The story of the Carousel includes wood and metal, concrete and colored glass, hearts and hands, and countless hours of loving labor.
Situated on the bank of the Clark Fork River in Caras Park – a popular venue for events – the Carousel is a Missoula mainstay. Carousel Hours: 11am-5:30 every day of the year–including Christmas Day (and rides are FREE on Christmas Day!)
Located in Caras Park in Missoula, the Carousel includes a wonderful play area for little ones designed and created by volunteers in Missoula.
