Priests wear the alb, stole, and chasuble. Deacons wear the alb and a stole, but the stole is worn diagonally across the body. They may also wear a dalmatic. Altar servers and other lay ministers usually wear albs to signify their baptized status and their role in the liturgy.
The manner of wearing the stole differs among clergy: priests wear it around the neck with the ends hanging parallel, deacons wear it diagonally from the left shoulder, and bishops wear it over the chasuble.
