It is designed to be a performance tadpole trike with good fit and weight distribution for riders from ~5′ to ~5’8”. Riders near the shorter end of that scale may need shorter cranks than the stock 165mm arms on the pocket to eliminate heel strike on the frame.
The glass slipper in question is the new 2005 Catrike Pocket. It is both the smallest, lightest and least expensive member of the Catrike line. It retails at $1495 (introductory price according to the Catrike web site).
7 Μαρ 2024 · The Catrike Expedition and the Pocket are true recumbent trikes meaning the both trikes have seats that are locked into a steep recline. Most commuter type recumbent trikes are going to have a fairly upright seat angle of 51 degrees, where the pocket and Expedition both have seat angles of 37-41 degrees.
The Pocket is “pocket-sized” but it’s not as tiny as its predecessor. It’s not a trike that I would recommend to a true clydesdale but it should fit a fairly wide range of riders. Probably the biggest limiting factor is the width of the trike’s seat.
19 Αυγ 2014 · I purchased a Catrike Pocket, a trike I had initially dismissed because I expected that it would be too small for me. I was wrong. While the Pocket is designed for smaller riders, it fits taller riders (I'm 6 feet) and has a few key advantages for my particular situation. So here is my quick review of the Pocket with advantages and disadvantages.
4 Ιουν 2017 · I am pleased to announce a new addition to the biking family: This is a Catrike Pocket - it's a recumbent tadpole-style trike. I have wanted a recumbent trike since... well, honestly, since I realized they existed.
18 Αυγ 2019 · The Pocket is a 2012 model, and it came with grip shifters. The Expedition has bar end shifters, as does every Catrike model currently on the site, including the Pocket, with the single exception of the Eola. My impression from participation from online groups is that people generally prefer the bar end shifters.
