Visitors to The Schiele Museum of Natural History can explore dinosaur fossils, wildlife displays, American Indian artifacts, gems and minerals, and a state-of-the-art planetarium.
This museum will immerse you from the prehistoric times to the mysteries of our universe. This museum also has a mini zoo (live animals and plants) inside showcasing the different flora and fauna the East coast, and other states have. It also has mini farm that shows farming ways from the old times.
In the Edge of Darkness, you’ll see fascinating close-ups of Ceres and Pluto, the first-ever look at a dwarf binary planet, and much more. Come experience the evolution of the Planetarium in our massive 79-foot Charlotte IMAX Dome Theatre with 12,000 watts of heart-pounding audio.
Schiele houses the second largest planetarium in North Carolina with a domed, 360-degree screen. They also offer summer camps and adult workshops. Prices: Adults (18+): $7, Youth (4-17): $5, Children (3&Under): Free
