YEAR OF THE DRAGON — New Yorkers celebrate the Lunar New Year in Chinatown in Manhattan. People packed the streets to watch the parade filled with dancing, music, costumes and most appropriately, colorful dragons.
Chinese New Year, or the Spring Festival (see also § Names), is a festival that celebrates the beginning of a new year on the traditional lunisolar Chinese calendar.
