24 Μαρ 2023 · The Chinese marked each rifle with a factory symbol stamp along with an SKS 4-digit serial number. The challenge is this: the countries that received these rifles from China didn't have most of the documents with the production details.

In this section we will display all recorded serial information. Currently we only have data compiled on the early variants, but this will be added to with serial data pertaining to later models as data comes in through the survey.
Add the first digit in a Chinese serial number to 1956 to determine the manufacturing date. For example, the serial number 419998 indicates a manufacturing date of 1960.
To be fair, identifying and appraising an SKS is not always the easiest of tasks, but it is very doable if you know what to look for. This guide will show the easiest ways to determine an SKS’ country of origin and what you should generally expect to pay for one in the current market.
