The Atlanta Fire Rescue Department (AFRD) provides an all-hazards approach in the protection of the lives and property of the residents, businesses, and visitors of Atlanta, Georgia. The department is comprised of five divisions of labor: Support Services, Field Operations, Emergency Medical Services, Technical Services, and the Airport Fire.
Roderick M. Smith is a highly accomplished Fire Chief with over 30 years of dedicated service to Atlanta's fire service. Having ascended through the ranks of the department, Chief Smith brings a wealth of experience and unwavering commitment to protecting lives, property, and communities.
