History of Hunts Point. In the days when Washington was still a territory, Hunts Point was a favorite camping ground of the Sammamish Indians. Fishing and hunting were exceedingly good. When Washington became a state and Seattle grew, the Indians were pushed north and east and finally stopped coming to the Point altogether.
